1. ALT-J — Ms

An awesome wave. A wonderful journey.

Ms begins as a lullaby, a youthful stream trickling, gravitating toward the unknown, darkness. An inevitable transition. The stream is swallowed by a powerful river, peacefully eroding the earth, soothing jagged rocks to sand, en route to its estuary, a dream. That final moment of consciousness, as your body spells with the tide of a wave-dominated delta (∆), sleep.

You awake to a veiled recollection of your journey. It vanishes. The shadow burns across like embers tide paper.

  2. COLD WAR KIDS — Lost That Easy

Amazing! Favorite track from the new Cold War Kids’ album Dear Miss Lonelyhearts.

“It’s a lonely life by candlelight to make believe you talk to the dead.”

  4. LOCAL NATIVES — Ceilings

This is the best track off Local Natives’ new album Hummingbird. It slowly builds into an amazing performance…

  5. RA RA RIOT — When I Dream

    Jazzy-Sassy.

Really anticipating Ra Ra Riot’s new album, Beta Love. Love this band, but like them just a little bit less without the sexy cellist, Alexandra Lawn.

  6. ALT-J — Breezeblocks

Alt-J’s debut album An Awesome Wave is far and away my favorite album of 2012. And of course they countered this great song with a compelling video.

  7. IO ECHO — When the Lilies Die

This song sounds like it belongs on the Encino Man or Clueless soundtrack… or in some sort of mid-90’s high school flick with a hot blonde lead. Everything about the sound and video is amazing.
